As expected, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 player’s auction attracted massive windfall. All eight franchises used the auction to get their squads ready for the upcoming season of the T20 league. A total of 60 players were sold during IPL auction 2019.

For some sides, it was about acquiring the game-changing players, while others came with an eye on players to plug the gaps in their squads.

IPL 2019

Jaydev Unadkat and uncapped Varun Chakravarthy ended up as the joint most expensive players as Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab respectively spent Rs 8.4 crore to acquire their services. KXIP also bought Sam Curran for Rs 7.2 crore – the most expensive foreign player in this auction.

Veteran Yuvraj Singh was bought for Rs 1 crore by Mumbai Indians after going unsold the first time.

JAIPUR

IPL 2019

At the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2019, 351 players went under the hammer in Jaipur. While some made a fortune, others weren’t as lucky. A total of ₹ 107 crore was spent by eight franchise owners at the 12th edition of IPL auctions in Jaipur. IPL’s eight franchisees bought 60 players, including 40 from India and 20 from overseas in this auction. One key highlight of the IPL 2019 auctions was the emergence of young talent.
